First, I emphasized that the main quality of a good leader of the twenty-first century remains first and foremost his ability to listen. A good leader must be able to accurately observe situations and be attentive to the people.
I continue my exploration of what constitutes good leadership.
Traditionally, leaders have sought to exercise authority, control and power. In the long term, this strategy does not succeed, because when they are motivated by fear, people perform their tasks either reluctantly or not at all.
actively disengaged employees are eating the net result of an organization, while breaking the spirit of their colleagues in this process. The U.S. labor market, Gallup finds over 300 billion dollars in the Gallup Management Journal (GMJ), the cost in lost productivity.
Gallup has based its estimate of lost productivity according to the following questions :
1. Do I know what is expected of me?What is interesting about these questions is that Gallup shows clearly that he must master basic skills in understanding attitudes and human behavior.
2. Do I have the materials and equipment I need to do my job?
3. Does it gives me the opportunity to do what I'm doing my best every day?
4. Over the last seven days, have I received recognition or praise about my good work?
5. My supervisor or someone at work, he seems to care about me as a person?
6. Y there someone at work who encourages my development?
7. At work, my opinions seem to count them?
8. Does the mission of my company make sure that I see that my work is important?
9. My coworkers are they committed to do quality work?
10. Do I have a best friend at work?
11. Over the last six months, someone told me he talked about my progress?
12. This past year I've had the opportunity to work to learn and grow?
I indicated in my previous post that " the essential element of a good leader remains a constant development of consciousness . So today, effective leadership must appeal to the conscience . This means that the basis of power (sound energy) of an inspired leader comes not from others but his own being: the path must be guided by his conscience . When others feel that you're willing to give of yourself - that you are aware - your influence as a leader will grow considerably.
The second quality of leadership, from the sense of observation and listening, is the ability to establish emotional ties.
When people are emotionally tied to you, they want to have contact with you. They want service and they want to share your vision. So can develop a deeper motivation. Under these conditions, lasting loyalties are formed.
To create such links, you must be prepared to build real relationships. You need to share yourself. You must demonstrate a personal interest in others. You must be able to recognize what are the strengths of others. You must show that you appreciate others.
• Real interest in the other : Do not just casually greet people when you cross them. Take time to show interest to them. Look people straight in the eye. Forget everything else and just be nice and open.
• Willingness to build a relationship : You demonstrate your commitment to building a relationship when you see others as your equals. The condescension is absolutely prohibited. When you lead with your conscience, you agree that the other is your equal, because at this level, there is no other reality: consciousness is a unified field, we are all connected to each other. Therefore, all souls are equal.
• Strengthening the strengths of other : To arrive to reinforce the strengths of others first, you must be able to perceive the strengths of others. You must observe and listen. Second, you have to constantly add value to your colleagues and people around you. The best leaders focus on the strengths of their supporters and colleagues. They build a team assessing who does what. They encourage each person to develop his best qualities. But it goes further. People want to be commended for their strengths: you must be able to personally praise them and show a real appreciation of who they are. You must be able to compliment the others.
• Increased self-esteem of other : A leader makes sure that people around him are appreciated for their strengths. You do your best to help those around you to feel that they are appreciated, and they have every reason to appreciate themselves.
To get to do all this at a basic level of your being, you must display good emotional energy. In order to effectively establish emotional ties with others, you must be emotionally free. What does this mean? You must have cleared your mind of guilt, resentment, every complaint and reproach, anger and aggression.
A boss who looks stupid, do you think attracts people around him? A politician who continues to point defects, faults and failings of others will fail to build bonding material.
Once you understand what is the value of emotional intelligence, you can develop your skills that connect people to each other. This requires to establish emotional ties and giving of yourself.
